Has anyone ever tried the FACE Hydrating Balancing cream from sephora?

If you did, how did it work for you? My nose gets very oily throughout the day, but around my mouth and jaw area, it's really dry. I use Clinique cleanser and toner and that works great, but I'm looking for a new moisturizer. Hi, ice cream will screw their tummies up. It is one thing to give a healthy cat ice cream licks, then when they throw it up it is no biggee... but not a sick one, especially since throwing up will dehydrate kitty even more.


Honestly, this will sound odd, but I have used this remedy for years....


Go to the store and by some Gerber rice baby cereal.


Mix up a tiny tiny bit with water and the kitty will lap it up. The rice cereal will help it stay down and intice kitty to eat it. If the water doesn't work, use milk to mix it. Have cool water out for kitty to get at if she wants it. Usually once they get a lil of that cerel on their belly, they will start drinking the water.


I had a momma kitty years ago that got an illness that left sores on her tongue, unfortunatley her five lil kittens got it too. My sis told me about the cereal thing and I was able to nurse them all back to health. When I took them in for their shots and told the vet, he said that if I hadn't done that they would have probably all died. I have used this treatment one other time when one of my cats (one of the five kittens/we kept two) got a respiratory ailment and would not eat or drink. Even if you can get her to take just a lil every hour or so it will help a lot... but for the ice cream... I wouldn't, ice cream is much richer than milk and can make them throw up which is the last thing you want her to do.

Ice cream contains milk/cream, which causes diarrhea, which dehydrates.





So, you really should try something else. Try ice (if she seems to respond to the cold), or frozen beef or chicken broth. Warm beef/chicken broth is also a good option.





Put some vanilla in some water and see if she'll take that. (She may be drawn to the smell) A drop or 2 of vanilla extract in a gallon of water may fool her.





If not, use a baby's medicine shooter to drip some water into her.
Some kitties are lactose-intolerant.





You should give her kitty ice cream (no lie--they make it) or lactose-free milk or ';cat milk'; (which is processed to be easier for kitties to digest.)





You don't want to have to deal with diarrhea because your kitty can't digest lactose well.





Have you tried gravy? A little lukewarm gravy might be nice.
Do you have a plastic syringe? Remove the needle, put some water in and slowly put some liquid in your cats mouth a few drops at a time.





Feed your cat canned food, it has lots of water in it. As far as the ice cream well, the sugar in it is really not good but give anything a try. Also ice cubes might work as well. Try plain yogurt too.
How do you know she's dehydrated? Why is she dehydrated?


Ice cream is not good for her and will likely make the problem worse. If after the below stuff is tried, Go to the store and get GOATS MILK it's usually in the health food section.

Anything with cows milk should not be given, when she's HEALTHY a TINY bit in moderation is ok (I let my kitty have about a teaspoon of ice cream, not chocolate of course) Cow's milk is too hard for them to digest, Goats milk is actually used to nurse orphaned kittens (I've used it )





Try tuna, wet food(make sure it's a ';stinky'; one ie salmon or something) chicken broth (unsalted!!!) and mix it with water.





If she is under a vets care, then go ahead and syringe her.


Get a syringe (just a dollar or two at walmart) and gentle put it in teh corner of her mouth and slowly push the syringe. Give her a break and do it again if necessary. Make sure she does not aspirate (water bubbles from her nose)

The sugar in it is probably not that good for her. Call the vet to be sure. Did you try just milk? I've heard that isn't good for a cat either, but better than all the sugar in ice cream.
no ice cream is bad for cats! the milk that we drink is bad for cats too drink.


If you have give your cat some milk too rehydrate give your cat the mothers milk that sell at store ok.
It is slightly better than nothing but the sugar/milk/etc can make a sick cat sicker. He really needs to see a vet for help and proper rehydration.

Beware of bacteria. Speaking of eye make-up鈥o not use mascara or any other eye product that is older than a few months. Bacteria that have grown in the make-up would love a new home in your eyes, and will cause your eyelids to swell. Be sure you get enough quality, regular sleep.





Sleep with your head elevated to allow better circulation and prevent fluid from collecting around your eyes.





Sleep on your back so that gravity does not route fluid directly to your eyes.





Getting Rid of Puffy/Dark Eyes:





Dip cotton balls in ice cold cucumber or potato juice and let rest on eyes for 10-15 min





Wear a mask that is filled with cold water or gel for a few minutes when you wake up in the morning.





Wrap pieces of ice in paper towels and place them on your eyelids for a few minutes. The cold will reduce the swelling.





Keep your eye creams in the refrigerator. The cool cream will help reduce your puffy eyes. When applying the cream, gently tap it onto your eyelid with your ring finger, so as to stimulate fluid drainage.





Soak cotton-wool pads in a bowl of ice-cold milk and then squeeze most of the liquid out. Place the pads on your eyes and repeat as they warm up for about 15 minutes. This will also brighten the white in your eye.





Dip cotton balls in ice water, and then squeeze the water out. Apply the cotton balls to your eyes for 5-10 minutes.





Place slices of cucumber, potatoes, or apple over the puffy eyelids for 10-15 minutes. Potatoes will reduce dark circles under the eyes and apples have pectin which aids in anti-oxidation.





Give your eyes a salt bath by soaking cotton pads in a saline solution or a solution of one teaspoon of salt in one pint of hot water. Place the pads on your puffy eyelids for a few minutes.

You know if you have oily skin it might be better to use a lotion designed for that as it will prevent your skin getting too oily and breaking out in spots,


I am not too familiar with Nivea cream so I am not sure if they have any but Olay do a great range for oily skin and they come with anti wrinkle treatments in them,


Fine lines have a way of creeping up on you so the sooner you start to treat them the better I say.

Yes, it would be a good choice for you.
It will not help in moisturizing it, but it would give your skin protection against the dry weather as long as your skin is covered with it.
Vaseline is highly recommended, but I like using pure mineral oil (which is an ingredient in a lot of moisturizers). It is pure with no additives or perfumes so it should not hurt your sensitive skin. Also, be careful what soap you shower with. Cetaphil or Dove for sensitive skin is very good. Cetaphil also has a very good moisturizer, but it can be pricey. I have always had great relief with the mineral oil.

Not sure about Garnier but I've been using Boots Soltan Face Sun Defence Cream SPF 50+ and it's really really good. I've tried loads of different facial sun creams and i hate the ones that make you feel like you've got oil all over your face too - this one is really good - feels just like normal moisturiser and is a good base for make up too. Makes your skin look fresh. Hope that helps!

The cleanser (even though it's really lotion like in consistency) is made to be used like a normal face wash. Wash your face, rinse it off. The toner is to be wiped on your face after you wash it to remove traces of the cleanser, oil, and make up. You do not need to rinse off the toner.

you should include a regime of applying creams and lotions that contain Hyaluronic acid as this holds up to 1000 times its own weight in water leaving the skin feeling moist and smooth. Avoid applying water to the skin as this will only make your skin dryer. avoiding the sun is also something else that will help with dry skin. basically for creams you need to be looking at one that has a low water and high oil content. vitamin a will also help when applied and taken internally.

you can try it, but i wouldnt suggest it. it didnt do anything for me just made me uncomfortable.

I think it will break you out. I stopped using it because of that. And i didn't wear it overnight. There's no telling what it would hve done to me if i did leave it on overnight.

If this medication is for acne or skin complaints the main thing to remeber is that you will have to saty out of the sun as it weakens the skin's defences to protect from the uva rays.


Use an oil free sunscreen as well.

I need an acne cream/ointment/cleansing pads that really works! I mean, cleaning the pores, just getting rid of acne. All the stuff i have used just keeps me from breaking out but I want something that gets rid of it. I have used proactive before and all it did was dry out my skin and make my face peel. I use stridex cleansing pads now but they dont really clean anything they just manage the breakouts. Can anyone tell me of a product that is a sure to work? Don't fall for those flashy, shiny products that smell good and look cool. You need something simple to get the job done.


I use a daily cleanser called Cetaphill, they make it for dry skin, oily skin and normal skin. I kid you not that it cleared up my face over night. My sister had a terrible acne problem and it was cleared in about a week with this stuff. It was recommended to me by my dermatologist, so it's legit. It's a little more expensive than some, its runs about $8-$10, but it is more than worth it. It comes in a cleanser or actually face wash form, and it works wonders!

Everyday, I cleanse my face with Deep Lathering Noxzema w/ Euctalyptis (sp). And it drys my skin out.. anyone have some suggestions on a lotion or face cream that I can use afterwards that will keep my skin fresh, and not make it too oily??Good cream/lotion for face after cleansing?
Biore moisturizer works pretty well in my experience, but you may want to lay off the Eucalyptis for a bit, because I've had some bad experiences with that. After the ';dry out'; period, I ended up with odd patches of scaly skin that burned. It's just not a good thing to use during winter, when skin is already dried out from the lack of moisture in the air and the cold.

I know the formula they used to have back in the day was really moisturizing and acceptable to do that with but now that every thing has 50 million unpronounceable ingredients i wouldn't do it. Its a cleanser so it will cleanse all the moisture out of your face but that may depend if you have really oily skin but even oil skin needs moisture. My sister used to leave it on as like a mask for like 15 minutes but that was like 15 years ago.

I've tried it before (I love Redken products) but I didn't think it did that great of a job. I use Aveda ';Shampure'; clarifying shampoo. It works great! Any type of clarifying shampoo should only be used a couple times a week though - using it every day will only dry out your hair.

For my oily skin I use a cleanser/toner combo. It has worked very well for me that my skin is clean to the touch.


I use Coonobabe's Pepino cleanser followed by their Manzanillo toner. Wash with cleanser, pat dry with clean towel, then apply toner and allow to air dry. During hot and humid days I repeat this process twice but it's worth it. My skin is clean oil/pimple free.

I used to use Noxzema, and well, it's extremely strong, so I wouldn't leave it on over night. To be careful don't leave it on overnight. It might burn your face, or leave blotches. Try being careful and just leave it on for ten minutes it'll still dry out you pimples if that is what you want. Also, you can try putting Vaseline or a little toothpaste if you want it to dry out. well, i use Herbalife, and i use the full set of face cream: cleanser, toner, then moisturizer. the difference with both of them is the cleanser, well, cleans your skin and pores, the toner you put on after your clean the area (apply with a cotton ball or cleansing pad, not directly, or it wont work as well), and it helps improve the skin tone.

Hi. I use T-Zone witch hazel stick and it works fast. Tea tree spot gel is good too. You may want to get tablets from the doctor. Take two a day and they will keep the spots at bay.
use clearasil spot pads or put a tiny bit of witch hazel on each spot

I'm not sure about that but I believe that I've heard or read that noxzema has menthol in it which can be a skin irritant according to Paula Begoun (and having used it myself many years ago :) who wrote the book 'Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me'. The book includes reviews of various skin care lines and cosmetics. It's not the gospel ;) but it's chockful of great information.





Paula does suggest for a basic facial scrub, a tiny amount of baking soda mixed with cetaphil liquid cleanser. (Facial scrubs should Not be used more than 1-2 x a week or it can be too harsh on the skin.) It is meant to be used before a foam cleanser (unless you have very very dry skin) and you just massage it in and it will sort of melt your makeup away and remove debris etc. then you just rinse off and follow with a cream cleanser...hope this helps :-)

I would recommend Nutrogena. Another product that is very inexpensive and makes a great cleanser it Hydrogen Peroxide.


Wet a cotton ball with the HP, clean your face then rinse. Look at the cotton ball when you are finished. You will be surprised how much dirt is on it.
Noxzema might worsen your acne in my opinion if you have true acne but try it.

I was using neutrogena products and it dried out my skin. it was horrible. my skin was dry,flaky, and getting really oily. i guess when the ksin is dry your skin produces too much oil. My mom used noxzema ever since she was a teenager, so i used hers and in a matter of days my skin got really clean, soft,and my pimples under the skin(which are the hardest to get rid of) went away!!.

I don't know about Noxzema cleasing cream, even if it does work, it probably can't serve as a permanent solution. Acne is complicated problem and needs to be solved from the inside and out, because the bacteria that is stuck in pores is so deep that only single cleansing cream can't reach it.





That's why I like ClearPores, their system is great and I like how they deal with acne permanently not like other companies that offer only cleansing creams. Which basically are good but don't kill the bacteria that remains deep inside. So even if your skin clears up after using a cleansing cream once your body's immune system weakens the acne is back because the bacteria multiplies and the whole process starts over.





That's just my opinnion, based on years of experience as skin care consultant.

it actually works really really well for me. hardly any zits on my face ever. but it might not for you, everyone is different. what i like about it is that it moisterizes your face so my face never dries out like it does with other face washes. it really depends on you though, try it for a few weeks and if you see improvments keep using it.

I also happen to have very dry skin and i live by Cetaphil, also try the gel instead of the bar for cetaphil. But this is all up to you I would try both for a month and see which one works for you best.

I just bought the Nozema deep Cleansing Cream. I use it twice a day. In the morning when I wash my face for work and in the night when i take a shower. Don't wash your face with any other product other than Noxzema. Before you get in the shower apply the cream to your face (and neck or any other area you'd like) like a mask, then get in and wash it off with warm water. If you're over washing your face or using other products your skin will attempt to compensate by producing more oils. Don't add any other product to Noxzema. Also, don't use old makeup applicators.

Before using any facial cleanser you should make sure it is right for your skin type, normal skin, dry skin, oily skin, or normal to oily skin. I would also try a microdermabrasion treatment to help unclog those pores... My two favorite are Mary Kay and the Oil of Olay (this one heats up)!

it depends on your skin type. Be very carfull about buying anything with the word moisterizer on it. It's really a trick. What you want to get is a skin cream for your face or lotion. A moisterizer only traps water in your skin, which is good when you have moister to trap; so in the end a moisterizer might dry your skin out. Personally I think that anti wrinkle creams work best. Not because they treat wrinkles, but because they have super moisterizers that tend to work really well. Botanics is a good company to buy from. (if you have really dry skin.) Just make sure you buy something appropiate for your skin type.

You really don't need any of that crap. If you don't want wrinkles, here's the best advice out there:





1. Use sunscreen when outdoors - the sun causes more damage than anything.


2. Drink plenty of water.


3. Maintain balanced nutrition.


4. Live a reasonably active lifestyle.

Keep your skin clean and moisturized - and this doesn't require a medicine cabinet or counter full of expensive designer products, but a quality, eco-friendly cleanser (and toner, if absolutely necessary) %26amp; moisturizer will do. You can find natural, non-toxic products at many treehugger stores (aka organic food markets).





Don't buy into the Lancome bull.$hit. Most of those products have you putting toxins on your skin... and you're worried about premature aging! Just imagine what 40 years of applying poison to your face will do to it!

Pick a brand that works for your skin and make sure that you cleanse, tone and moisturise morning and night. Get into the habit of doing this and your life will bemuch easier. After you have done this apply an acne cream to your 'problem' areas. You should make sure you do this AT LEAST at night because your skin heals while you sleep. As for makeup, you really should try and find a foundation that suitsyour skin type because you don't want to make your problem worse. Hope this helps!!

I have a few issues with my skin that I'd like to take care of.


Since it's not so serious (no risk to health), and because I'm shy, I'd rather not see a doctor or dermatologist if I don't have to.





There are some visible blemishes on my face - on the sides of my nose, and above my eyebrows. The skin is often dry and has flakes there. Even when moistened, the skin will appear red a lot of the time. I'm not really sure what this is, but if someone thinks they know or if they know where I might find out about it, advice would be appreciated.


Underneath my eyebrows as well there is what seems a little bit like dandruff or something. Dead white skin flakes. Gross, I know. :S


I can sometimes peel a very small patch of skin away, but then the skin beneath will turn red and the dead skin will soon form again on top of that.








OK, apart from this, there is another thing I wanted to mention: I also have itchiness/rash issues between my legs - where my legs meet my pelvis i guess. As far up the leg as you can get on the inside of it.


So, outside my briefs on the inside part of my leg. Haha.





I think it's a different sort of skin condition since there isn't any dead skin here. Or maybe it's similar but there isn't dead skin because my leg skin is different from my facial skin.


I often find at night it is very itchy and I'll scratch there almost unintentionally while I'm half asleep. I wish it would go away though.





Anyway, I know you guys are probably disgusted by all this, but this isn't some sort of popularity contest... and hopefully someone out there can help me a little.

Usually products like that are only to help soothe the eczema. I've struggled with eczema for the past 8 years or so and the only thing that has ever worked was steroid cream from the doctor. The lotions at the store made for eczema did help with the itching and the dry cracking feeling. I'd say use it for a week and if it doesn't help or gets worse then it's time for something better.

I have a few pimples on the forehead and near my chin/lower cheeks..... a lot of blackheads in the nose/chin area... and tiny bumps underneath my skin that are colorless but super annoying all over!





Any homemade masks....cleansers/treatments/products that you can recomend???

Pick a brand that works for your skin and make sure that you cleanse, tone and moisturise morning and night. Get into the habit of doing this and your life will bemuch easier. After you have done this apply an acne cream to your 'problem' areas. You should make sure you do this AT LEAST at night because your skin heals while you sleep. As for makeup, you really should try and find a foundation that suitsyour skin type because you don't want to make your problem worse. I have a few issues with my skin that I'd like to take care of.


Since it's not so serious (no risk to health), and because I'm shy, I'd rather not see a doctor or dermatologist if I don't have to.





There are some visible blemishes on my face - on the sides of my nose, and above my eyebrows. The skin is often dry and has flakes there. Even when moistened, the skin will appear red a lot of the time. I'm not really sure what this is, but if someone thinks they know or if they know where I might find out about it, advice would be appreciated.


Underneath my eyebrows as well there is what seems a little bit like dandruff or something. Dead white skin flakes. Gross, I know. :S


I can sometimes peel a very small patch of skin away, but then the skin beneath will turn red and the dead skin will soon form again on top of that.








OK, apart from this, there is another thing I wanted to mention: I also have itchiness/rash issues between my legs - where my legs meet my pelvis i guess. As far up the leg as you can get on the inside of it.


So, outside my briefs on the inside part of my leg. Haha.





I think it's a different sort of skin condition since there isn't any dead skin here. Or maybe it's similar but there isn't dead skin because my leg skin is different from my facial skin.


I often find at night it is very itchy and I'll scratch there almost unintentionally while I'm half asleep. I wish it would go away though.





Anyway, I know you guys are probably disgusted by all this, but this isn't some sort of popularity contest... and hopefully someone out there can help me a little.





I sometimes use an aloe cream that I have in both areas (before bed and after showering), but it doesn't seem to work very well.

try some of the things from MoorSpa they have different products for different skin types Nourishing Moisturiser sounds like the thing for you also you can warm it up buy rolling it round your fingertips which will help it get deeper in to your skin

as a user yes their skincare products definately work. the fade cream gradually removes dark spots its not something that happens overnight

One option you can try is All Clear from BeautiControl. It seems to work well for all skin types. If it does dry your skin too much there are other options within their other skin care lines that you can substitute to suit your skin's needs.





As for fade cream...what is the specific need for it. There may be something in their product line for that as well. But, I would need more information to better answer. You're welcome to email me.

It depends I would see a doctor and then they can prescribe you something that will work.They will either give a prescription or cream.(well they did for me)

Obbers link is right, OTC skin creams are not a concern unless applied directly to the nipple. In which case things like vitamin E cream may cause overdose.

Tea tree oil...apply, full strength, with a q-tip (cotton swab). Another ingredient is salicylic acid...yes, same stuff as in wart remover but will be at 2% strength for spots rather than the 40% strength for the warts. Both of these are best for drying the spot.


Spot cream with benzoyl peroxide is meant to kill the bacteria common to many spots.


Single spots can be clogged pores letting you know that you need to exfoliate or just wash a little more thoroughly. Lots of spots that are a regular problem could be bacterial and might be best approached with a doc's help.


I don't remember the exact names of products sold in the UK (but I did find some there when we lived there a few years ago) but any chemist or shop with a personal hygiene section - go to Boots, they are very well supplied with this kind of thing - will have several products with either of those ingredients...just read labels.


Try to avoid large amounts of alcohol in whatever product you choose - it's too drying and, oddly enough, can cause your face to produce more oil to compensate...probably not what you want.


I found face cleaner, with tea tree oil as a major ingredient, to make a real difference in the routine maintenance of my skin and would just about swear that the random spots show up less frequently now that I'm using the ingredient regularly in my face cleanser. Love the tea tree oil.

Boots own brand are great they sell most things in the range and i find their face wash is really good and the cleanser and toner will remove any make up
I prefer the Nutrimin C products from Arbonne. The eye cream has Kojic acid which is a natural lightener and has worked wonders on the age spots on my face (I'm over 50). They have a great wholesale buyers program to help reduce the costs. You have to talk to a consultant to get info on that (see link below).

It would depend on what it is for. Whatever you decide on buying, however, do not pick something with fragrance.


Dermalogica is great for people who do not any skin problems and just want a moisturizer; it's my favorite skincare. Kiehls is also great to use in general. Ives Rocher. These aren't too pricey.


If you have dry skin, I recommend L'Occitane.


If it's for anti-aging, the best is Dr. Perricone, but I don't know if that sells in the UK. It's also a bit strong since it uses DMAE (Fish oil), but I've seen that it works. It's also very pricey.


If it's for acne, then I recommend DDF. It's surprisingly well priced for the ingredients that they use and how well it works.


Stay away from Clinique because they pretty much only use fat and no other beneficial ingredients. You'll only get cysts. And don't use Channel or Dior because they use fragrance and that irritates skin.
I find 100% pure tea tree oil dabbed on the blemish alone helps. Its cheap, safe and natural. Be careful not to use anything too harsh on blemishes as it will dry the skin out too much.

I'm trying it myself. You can go to their website and order a free trial of it and just pay shipping and handling $6.97. After that they'll charge you for it unless you tell them you don't want it.
